Over 8,000 Scouts Raise Over One Ton of Food

Last weekend marked the start of our 2008 scouting events with 8,000 scouts and their leaders camping on the Wildwood Beach! With activities from a beach bonfire to Oceanography Merit Badge Workshops, and of course the rides (including the “First Flight” of FLY The Great Nor’easter Freedom Flight Seats), it was a fun-filled weekend to say the least. And what’s more? The weather was b-e-a-u-tiful on Saturday!

Last October, I was happy to report the scouts’ raised over 900 pounds of food, but this year they have already raised over one TON of food! Can you believe that? And we still have two more scouting events left. This year the food went to the United Way First Call for Help Food Pantry.

Here are some pictures of the Oceanography Merit Badge workshops put on by the Wetland’s Institute of Stone Harbor:

I will make sure to keep you posted on our food drive for our next 2 scouting events, Beach Bop (June 7th) and the Fall Beach Jam (September 27-28th)!

See you at the Shore!

First Flight a BIG success!

The “First Flight” crew of FLY The Great Nor’EasterTHANK YOU! Morey’s Piers would like to thank our sponsors for celebrating the “First Flight” of FLY The Great Nor’Easter with us and supporting the Make A Wish Foundation.

The event raised over $4,000 to help grant wishes to Cape May County children afflicted with life threatening medical conditions. Giving back to these children, what their illness has taken away – laughter, strength, hope and joy, is the sole purpose of this organization.

Morey’s Piers and our associates recognize the importance of re-investing in our community and appreciate that you join us in that commitment. Your generous support of the First Flight event is sincerely appreciated.
