Finally… Let the Rockwork Begin!

After many months of research, planning, and preparation we have finally started to construct the walls and rockwork for the new River Adventure.

Let's Rock!

The research started with a visit to Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon (still one of my favorite waterparks in the world) and literally walking the river with camera hand.

 

 

Oops.. wrong button.

While learning to use my new iPhone, I accidently hit the wrong button and took a picture of myself while walking in the river. Warning to all mid-age bald men…be careful when going in a lazy river alone with a camera!
It was on this “walk in the park” that I discovered something I must have seen 100 times before but never took notice…a water bench. To photograph this I asked my brother to sit in as a model which he gladly obliged, of course not knowing how exciting this discovery was for me.

So how is it that I could get so excited about a bench? Well, have you ever seen a city park without a bench? You see by reshaping the river with rocks, waterfalls, fallen trees, and numerous benches we are able to completely change the environment of the river.

      Did disney actually offer to let you see plans or did you check out the place visually ? Disney is the best but Morey’s is right up there. Before I moved to N Wildwood I had never heard of Morey’s but
      I was strictly an AC girl and never got around much. I really love Cape May County and North Wildwood and in the summer your piers are the best .I only wish we could extend the season . I think we have some sort of 3rd season till Thanksgiving but then its just a ghost city .

    I wish they offered season passes for just the water parks, not in a package with all the rides.

    Will you be allowed to be in without a tube? If not, why would you need the benches? Just asking because I know the kids like to go without tubes but we always enforce the rules before the lifeguards have to:)

    Morey’s pier just keeps getting better and better . My Family and I will be in the Wildwoods this July and your pier and water parks are ALWAYS the highlight of our vacation

    This sounds great! I hope you also looked at the river adventure at Atlantis – it is a blast! Several mini-rapids, a place where a wave is generated and pushes you along, some caves, and some quiet areas.

    There have been a lot of improvements in general for Morey’s piers – thanks, and keep up the good work!

    Yay, I’m sooo excited!!!!!! If I’m this excited I can’t wait to see how excited my three kids will be ( :
    WE LOVE WILDWOOD!!!!!! It’s been three years since we’ve been able to afford a vacation I don’t care what I have to do to get there this year my son is three he’s overdue!!!!!!

    Hi again ,I reallly and truely wish that you could have time payments to pay for the season passes after all I have 9 neices and nephews I would like to buy for but never could afford all the passes at one time
