100 Wristbands

On a recent Sunday, best friends Amber and Briana visited Morey’s Piers to have fun and ride the rides. As we scanned Amber’s season pass, we realized this was Amber’s 100th visit this year. Yes, this year. By our calculations, there were 116 days in our season when she hit the 100th wristband milestone. This must be some kind of Morey’s Piers record! AND her friend Briana had visited us a total of 62 times this summer. These girls love their rides and slides!

It seems that they always start out at Surfside Pier but picked up their bracelets, but this time they got them on Mariner’s Lading as Surfside had closed for the season. What amazed me the most about both girls was their excitement and enthusiasm, you would have thought that it was their first time visiting Morey’s Piers.

While the girls love all of the coasters their favorite ride is the Screamin’ Swing. Their favorite waterpark is Raging Waters because, “we just love the Sky Ponds!” they told me. I was able to keep them at Guest Services long enough to snap a quick picture and then they were off running to catch the next ride on the Sea Serpent.

Lee the girl with Amber is Briana Thompson, my granddaughter. She grew up on the piers, as I was working for moreys for about 10 years.  She just loved to go to work with me. There she learned so much, her counting and her Spanish. The workers and management made her and my days at work special. I remember the days of the little 2year old dancing in front of the music express. Well, she is all grown up and 13 years old and still gets her season pass every year and spends her summer days and nights with Moreys piers.

When I was in high school, I’m sure I would have had 100 visits to Morey’s Piers.  I practically lived on the boardwalk in the summer.  I hit the Sea Serpent every time.  Loved Jumbo Jet (still miss it) and now Nor’Easter.  Loved your Star Wars ride and rode that EVERY night (big Star Wars fan and the cute Luke Skywalker character didn’t hurt).  Good Old Days!!

I take my girls to Morey’s every year.  I don’t live in Jersey anymore, but I still visit every summer.  My older girl loves the Sea Serpent (my younger one is still not tall enough to ride) and Great White.  I also had my older girl on AtmosFEAR, but she didn’t like it.  I love it!  Both my girls love the Sea Dragon, Do Whopper, Flitzer, Moby Dick, the Giant Wheel,  Fun House,  and the Zoom Phloom.

Can’t wait until next year!!

Wow!  100 wristbands.  We kept a count this year of our daughters season pass wristbands and ride totals; 34 wristbands, 4 waterpark passes and over 400 rides throughout the summer.  Her first Christmas gift request? .......another season pass for 2012!
