Although with this weather who would know!?
So the weather has been uber nice, which has helped us do quite a bit in our efforts to get ready for 2013. Pirates of the Wildwoods is getting a new floor. Boat Tag is getting an overhaul, so much so that it sits in nice little rows of parts as it starts to get reconstructed. The Zoom Phloom is starting to take shape with lots of sea life and the Sea Serpent is getting some paint and rehab! There is so much going on in fact that some areas of the pier look quite eerie and vacant of the bright vibrant rides that usually intrude on the views of the ocean.
The weather is a nice reprieve from the normal cold blowing wind that makes it so difficult for all of our dedicated staff who work outside all winter to get everything ready for spring. The warmth is nice, but for me personally it doesn’t feel much like the holiday season. My memories of Christmas usually entail that biting air that seems so crisp to breathe in on a chilly winter morning, and the cool brisk sunsets over the ocean as we leave the piers to head home, but it’s hard to get in the Christmas spirit when the weather just won’t cooperate! So there! I wish it was colder, but that’s just my personal opinion.
Although it’s not cold it’s still that time of year and If you're looking for that great gift now’s the best time to stock up on ticket cards, season passes and more! But the sale doesn’t last all winter. Before you know it, Spring will be in the air and everything will be getting painted, assembled and polished for yet another summer season of cotton candy, blinking lights and those familiar sounds of the ocean and children laughing. But for now, lets enjoy the weather. It’s guaranteed to be winter soon. I’ll cross my fingers that it just gets a little colder before Christmas.
