People often write in with fond memories of Morey’s, and we love to hear about them, but this is one story that we especially wanted to share.
Last Sunday, love was in the air as Uri led his girlfriend, Rachel, along the boardwalk. The sun was shining and birds were chirping as the couple joyously explored Morey’s Piers. After a wonderful day, Uri wanted to stop and see the boardwalk’s newest attraction: The Palace of Sweets, home of the adventure maze. However, only a few minutes after entering the maze, Uri got “lost” and left Rachel wandering through the glittering house of mirrors. As Rachel neared the exit, she came upon a rotunda, where 6 mirrors reflected off each other. In each of the mirrors, Rachel saw Uri, but she had to find out which one was really truly her loving boyfriend. When she did, he was waiting with a diamond ring and asked for her hand in marriage.
Here’s what Uri had to say about the day:
“I thought the Palace of Sweets combined three elements. First, the reflections generated a special effect whereby it appeared as if there were multiples of me proposing. Who wouldn’t want that? Second, the mirrors and lighting showcased the diamond’s brilliance. And third, it provided some challenge on her part to find me. Given how much time and effort I put into picking out the right ring, I thought it fair that she should work a little herself to get it. At the end of the day however, I knew she would have some fun with it and I enjoyed putting it together. Besides, isn’t life all about reflection?”
