Our waterpark maintenance crew takes their jobs pretty seriously. And today was a great day for Raging Waters as our crew was able to celebrate a small milestone in our pre-season opening process. Our first pool at Raging Waters is now filled, filtered and treated!!! One down, more than dozen left to go.
The first pool we always fill first is the deep pool at Raging Waters. This is the catch pool for Shotgun Falls and the Rope Swing. It is 10 feet deep and holds approximately 100,000 gallons of water. From the time we turn on the fill line, it takes about 12 hours to fill. From a mechanical standpoint, the filtration system is relatively easy to start up, and rarely gives us any issues. So from a mental perspective, it is nice to start with an “easy” aquatic system and work from there. It was a great feeling today to walk back to Raging Waters and see a crystal clear blue pool that looks refreshing enough to jump right in. But not so fast, the water temp is currently only 64F…rest assured it will be quite warmer on opening day!
On a side note, I was able to catch some video footage of our crew “topping off” the pool….it may be low technology, but it worked…. Glad to see that the crew still has a sense of humor!
Enjoy the video!
