I know that a parking lot is for parking, but this is ridiculous.
Arriving at Morey’s Piers this morning there is something a little out of the ordinary. It’s overcast, a little windy and overall a pretty quiet day here on the boardwalk, but the last thing you would expect when you get out of your car in the parking lot is to be parked next to a rollercoaster train.
This morning there they were, both trains from the Great White. There they sit waiting, but for what? Well, after thousands of trips around the Great White track they will be taking a trip of their own, a home coming of sorts, they are on their way back to Hatfield, PA, where they were born. They will be receiving a rehabilitation by their manufacturer, PTC (Philadelphia Toboggan Company). Among the upgrades will be improved lap bars, new upholstery and new wood. They will be leaving in the morning, and I’m excited, cause then I can get my parking space back.
