HOUSING
WHAT ABOUT ACCOMMODATIONS?

Housing is independently owned and operated. Morey's Piers has relationships with area housing owners and we will compile a list of available housing for use by our international students. The types of accommodations are typically apartments (flats) and rooming/boarding houses. Housing in Wildwood is plentiful. It will be your responsibility to make arrangements for housing. Once you arrive, our Recruiting Dept. will assist you in finding housing. There is no need to worry, no one has been stranded without housing and we will make every reasonable effort to assist you in your housing efforts.

WHAT WILL I PAY?
Rent

Housing costs vary depending on several factors: location, arrival date, type of housing, and the number of people. The earlier you arrive in Wildwood the better the choices will be. Those who arrive first get the cheapest, cleanest, most convenient housing. However, even if you arrive later (late June and early July) you will find something.

Rent can range anywhere from $75 - $115 per week, but the average rent is $85 per week. Rent is usually paid weekly. Expect to be required to pay a security deposit (usually one week's rent) and your first week's rent upon moving in. You should plan on the possibility of spending your first night in a motel; this will give you enough time to really look around and compare flats. Motel rates are approximately $25 per night and there is a motel located near the bus station.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT TO FIND?
Standard of Living

Most housing in Wildwood is adequate. It can most accurately be compared to cheap college/university housing. The housing will not be grand, but it will be within walking distance to nightlife, grocery stores, launderettes, and work. You will want to find a safe, clean, conveniently located place, but keep in mind you won't spend much time there so it doesn't need a lot of extras. Do not expect to walk into flats with air conditioning, satellite TV, and pools out back. (although there are a few places with these amenities). Accommodations are furnished and usually provide bed linens and cooking supplies.

WHERE TO LIVE
Location

Wildwood and North Wildwood are the most popular locations for students, but don't overlook Wildwood Crest-some of the nicest housing can be found in the Crest. There are numerous pubs and nightclubs in the Wildwoods, which centers on, or just off, Pacific Avenue . The most popular streets are: Garfield, Lincoln, Youngs, Oak, Maple, Burke, Magnolia, and Poplar. Wildwood is a relatively safe area, there are no dangerous places to live, but there are less desirable areas. We will make sure you know where these are when you arrive.
