As a seasonal tourist town, the Wildwoods offer ample affordable seasonable housing. Most housing is independently owned and operated. The types of housing available are typically apartments and rooming/boarding houses. While it will be your responsibility to make arrangements for housing, specific details on housing opportunities can be discussed during the hiring process.
Housing costs vary depending on several factors: location, arrival date, type of housing and the number of people. Rent can range anywhere from $75 - $115 per week, but the average rent is $90 per week. Rent is usually paid weekly. Expect to be required to pay a security deposit (usually one week's rent) and your first week's rent in cash upon moving in.
Most housing in Wildwood is adequate. It can most accurately be compared to cheap college/university housing. The housing will not be grand, but it will be within walking distance to nightlife, grocery stores, launderettes, and work. You will want to find a safe, clean, conveniently located place, but keep in mind you won't spend much time there so it doesn't need a lot of extras. Do not expect to walk into apartments with air conditioning, satellite TV, and pools out back. Accommodations are generally old and not equipped with modern amenities. They are furnished and usually provide bed linens and cooking supplies. Additionally, many associates have been able to find affordable housing that also offers wireless internet access.
