MOREY’S PIERS LAUNCHES NATIONWIDE SEARCH FOR NEW CURLEY FRY DIPPING SAUCE RECIPE

Chipotle lime, garlic aioli, honey barbeque…Morey’s Piers wants to taste it all. Starting July 13, National French Fry Day, the classic, seaside attraction located on the boardwalk of Wildwoods, NJ is inviting French fry enthusiasts to submit their best dipping sauce recipe for a chance to win the grand prize of $500 cash and free a bucket of fries every week during the summer of 2014. 

Contestants, 13 years or older, are encouraged to submit an original dip recipe complementing the famed boardwalk fries to the Morey’s Piers Facebook page at www.facebook.com/MoreysPiers.  Submissions will be accepted starting Saturday, July 13 through Monday, September 2, 2013 at 11:59pm EST. 

Five finalists will be chosen on September 9, 2013 by Morey’s executive food team based on originality, look, and taste of the recipe and invited to attend the Morey’s Piers Super Sunday Celebration on September 29, 2013. At the event, the top five dip recipes will be recreated by Morey’s Piers’ executive chef Wally Jurusz and judged by guests of the piers. One grand prize winner will be selected and receive $500 cash and a bucket of Curley’s Fries every week during the summer of 2014.

“Curley’s Fries were introduced at Morey’s Piers in 1974 and have been a boardwalk fixture ever since,” added Jack Morey, second-generation partner of Morey’s Piers. “This is a fun way for our guests to become part of that legend and have their recipe paired with Wildwood’s beloved fries.”

Curley’s Fries has locations in front of both Mariner's Landing and Surfside Piers. Current dipping sauces available on the menu include: ketchup, cheese, vinegar, and cilantro cream.  On National French Fry Day, guests in the Wildwoods area will have the opportunity to meet and take photos with “Curley” the mascot from 10am to 3pm in front of the Curley’s Fries location on Mariner’s Landing Pier.
