Wildwood - Wildwood, NJ, October 17, 2007 - Watch for Morey’s Piers and the Wildwood Boardwalk in country music artist Jason Aldean’s new music video “Laughed Until We Cried”! The video, which debuted on Country Music Television’s (CMT) Top 20 Countdown last week, was filmed entirely in Cape May County, NJ.

Morey’s Piers Team Travels to The Netherlands To Test Prototype Train Design for Vekoma SLC Coasters.
October 15, 2007
Wildwood - A team consisting of Morey’s Piers executives, operations and maintenance managers traveled to Walibi World in the Netherlands, the amusement park that boasts the first installation of a Vekoma Suspended Looping Coaster (SLC), and the location for prototype testing of a redesigned train featuring an all new SLC passenger carrier and restraint system being considered for the Great Nor’Easter (GNE) on Morey’s Surfside Pier.

The intent of the new train design is to make the ride experience more enjoyable by holding the rider firmly in an ergonomically designed seat, while also providing unhindered vision in all directions as well as complete arm freedom. The design utilizes a lap bar and innovative vest, instead of a shoulder harness, to comfortably restrain Guests during the ride. Test rides included each team member riding at different positions on the train to compare the new design, which was installed in the first row of the train, to the original. It was then decided that the prototype be sent immediately to the USA to be installed and tested on the GNE.

Dino Fazio, Director of Operations for Morey’s Piers said, “The ride experience is infinitely more enjoyable. You have unobstructed views all around you and your arms and shoulders are free to move as desired. The system holds the body firmly in the seat but is also forgiving to the forces generated by the ride, thereby providing a comfortable feeling of free flight”.
“Having had a number of test runs I am convinced that this modification would make an absolute remarkable change to the existing structure (of the Great Nor’Easter), creating an amazing change in our SLC ride experience”, Coaster Maintenance Supervisor Rich Peterson added.

The itinerary for the team of Will Morey, President and CEO of the Morey Organization; Jack Morey, Executive Vice President; Geoff Rogers, Vice President Operations/Risk Management; Dino Fazio, Director of Operations; Don Burkholder, Assistant Director Attractions Maintenance and Rich Peterson Coaster Maintenance Supervisor, included visits to parks in Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Germany and Gothenberg Sweden.

Installation and testing of the prototype design began this week on the Great Nor’Easter at Morey’s Piers and will continue for several weeks.
