A Closer Walk

A Closer Walk is a dynamic Christian youth event designed to help young people strengthen their relationship with Jesus Christ. Now in its 12th year, A Closer Walk continues to reach out to thousands of young Christians offering a weekend of fellowship and renewal. This inspiring event led by the Holy Spirit will touch hearts and change lives.

For 2013, Starfield headlines A Closer Walk, performing Friday night. 

Canadian worship band, Starfield, has spent the last 10 years partnering with churches and ministries, leading students and congregations in passionate and energetic worship. They released their self-titled major label debut in 2004, followed by "Beauty in the Broken" in 2006, "I Will Go" in 2008 and most recently "The Saving One" in 2010. Starfield-penned songs like "Filled With Your Glory", "Reign In Us", and "The Saving One" are sung in church services every weekend all over the world. Starfield is the most-awarded and top-selling Christian band in Canada, and are expanding that following in the US, United Kingdom, and Europe with yearly concert tours and conference appearances. Ministry partnerships with the Billy Graham Association, Dare2Share, and Youth Specialties have helped Starfield grow beyond the confines of the music industry and more directly into partnerships with the local Church.

Re:DEFINE will also perform. Look for them Thursday night at A Closer Walk. RE:DEFINE is a community of young adults, ages 18-35 aimed at building an army of young believers strong in the Lord and strong in the Word. It's vision is to be an epicenter of influence in the tri-state area. 

RE:DEFINE creates a family of believers engaged, involved, and growing, to affect change for the better, it brings people to a saving knowledge of Christ, and disciple believers along the way. It is our desire to bring in believers on the fringes of the church and plug them in giving the opportunity to receive life-changing teaching and engage in passionate worship while experiencing life together with other young adults.

Jeff Bethke is our guest speaker. Jeff was born in Tacoma, WA and played baseball in college. He earned a BS in Politics and Government and was recently married to an amazing, beautiful and sweet woman of God, Alyssa. He loves to make creative videos that usually center on a peasant Galilean man who lived 2,000 years ago. He is an avid grace lover and there is nothing that sparks a joy for life and other people more that when they truly understand just all God did for us on the cross of Jesus. This day his life changed was when he realized that He saw all his filth, all his sin, all his shortcomings and all his insecurities yet still looked Jeff in the eye and said, "I love you and I'm not going anywhere."

Youth Leaders Discussion Session

We recognize the huge responsibility it is to bring a group of young people to an outdoor, overnight event - plus the nurturing and guidance you provide your kids all year long.  Join us Friday afternoon for a one-hour session designed especially  for youth leaders.

Ocean Baptisms
Each year we are amazed by the number of people who participate in this beautiful ceremony.  Baptisms are held Friday. A baptism certificate is provided to each participant by the officiating pastor.

Admission to A Closer Walk:

All Access Ticket: includes camping Thursday and Friday, breakfast and dinner on Friday, speaker and worship sessions, t-shirt, amusement rides and waterparks until 6 pm on Saturday.

New for 2013 – When you register online you can print your event tickets immediately!
Wristbands and meal tickets will not be shipped to you. Just bring your e-ticket(s) to Event Check-In and redeem it for your event wristband. Advance purchase ends July 28.  After that date you must purchase your ticket at A Closer Walk check-in.
