Coaches, Players & Spectators
Coaches are not only responsible for their own conduct, but also for the conduct of their players, parents and spectators. Poor sportsmanship, taunting, trash talking, fighting or other unbecoming behavior on the part of players, coaches, parents or fans will not be tolerated. Tournament organizers and officials reserve the right to eject offenders, terminate a game and/or escort coaches, players, teams or fans from the premises.
Only head coaches are permitted to address the officials; coaches are expected to do so in a courteous manner. Any questions or disputes will be discussed only by the head coach and the officials on the field. Determinations of officials are final and binding.
Coaches are asked to make sure their players clean their bench areas of water bottles and other debris after each game
The Tournament Committee’s interpretation of these rules shall be final and binding. The Tournament Committee reserves the right to decide all matters pertaining to this tournament.
Awards
First place trophies will be awarded to division winners; medals will be awarded to 2nd place.
Arrival
Teams should arrive at the scheduled field 30 minutes prior to game time to be checked in by the appropriate official. Teams may warm-up in any area other than the field of play and directly behind the goal area while a game is in progress.
Protests
No protests will be allowed.
Team Field Position
Players and coaches of both teams will be on the north or east side of the field. Parents and spectators will be on the opposite side for the entire match. Coaches or spectators are not permitted to coach from the spectator side of the field. Coaches and players must remain between the crease line and their side of the mid-field line. Coaches may not coach from below the crease line. No spectators are permitted to stand behind the goal area.
Forfeits
A team shall be allowed a 5-minute grace period after the scheduled game-time in the preliminary rounds before the match is awarded to their opponent. A minimum of 4 players constitutes a team, and if 4 players are present the match may not be delayed. If during the course of the match a team falls below the minimum 4 players, the game will be forfeited to their opponent. A team that has forfeited a game may not advance to the finals. If an apparent group winner forfeits, the group team with the next best record will be declared the group winner. A forfeit in the preliminary rounds shall be awarded as 3 points for a win with the score 5-0.
Points
At the conclusion of the preliminary matches, each team will be ranked according to their performance. This ranking will determine the teams that will meet in the semi-final or the final matches. The ranking criteria are as follows: Win – 3 points; Tie – 1 point; Loss – 0 points; Win by forfeit – 3 points. The team with the most match points finishes first. A match that has been cancelled by the Tournament Committee will be awarded a 0-0 tie. Teams are encouraged but not required to not run up the score by more than 6 goals. However, if a team wins by more than 6 points, the score will be changed by the tournament committee to reduce the number of goals scored by the winning team to no more than 6 more than that of the losing team. The reduced amount will be used in tie-breaker calculation if needed.
Tiebreaker
In the event of a tie within a division, the following tiebreaker rules will be applied in order:
1. Winner of head-to-head competition
2. Least goals allowed during the preliminary matches
3. Goal differential.
4. Coin toss (First team alphabetically calls it)
If 3 teams are tied for any position, the above process will be used, except head-to-head competition will be eliminated and the first tiebreaker will be least goals allowed.
Divisional Play
Division of 4 – Each team will play a 3 game round-robin schedule. The
Division winner will be the team with the most points.
Division of 5 – Each team will play a 4 game round-robin schedule. The
Division winner will be the team with the most points.
Division of 6 – The division will be split into two groups of 3. Each team will play a 2 game round robin schedule. The first place team in each group will play the second place team in the other group in a semi-final match. The winner of each of those semi-final games will advance to the final. The third place team in each group will play in a consolation game.
Division of 8 - The division will be split into two groups of 4. Each team will play a 3 game round robin schedule. The first place team in each group will advance to the final.
Division of 12 – The division will be split into 4 groups of 3. Each team will play a 2 game round robin schedule. The first place team from each group will advance to semi-final matches. The winner of each of those semi-final games will advance to the final. Second and third
3 place teams from each group will each play a consolation game against a comparably ranked team from a different group.
Weather
Regardless of weather conditions, coaches and their teams must appear on the field of play as scheduled, ready to play unless notified by a member of the Tournament Committee. Failure to appear will result in forfeiture of the match. Only the referee or the Tournament Committee can cancel or delay a match. In the event matches are cancelled by the Tournament Committee due to inclement weather, a recorded message will be broadcast on the Tournament Weather Hotline, 609-729-3700 x 1887. If no message is broadcast, it should be assumed that matches will be played at the scheduled times.
Inclement Weather causing cancellation before the match – Preliminary Rounds. Referee and/or the Tournament Committee may reduce the length of a match, and subsequent matches. If a match is cancelled the
Tournament Committee will award a 0-0 tie.
Inclement Weather causing cancellation during the Match – Preliminary Rounds. The match will be considered completed and the score will stand if one period has been completed. If less than one period of the match has been completed, the Tournament Committee will award a 0-0 tie.
Inclement Weather causing cancellation during the Match – Championship Rounds. The match will be considered completed and the score will stand if one period has been completed. If less than one period of the match has been completed or if a tie exists at the stoppage of play, the winner will be decided by the toss of a coin.

Beach Lacrosse is a unique lacrosse tournament in many ways, not the least of which is being able to camp on the beach! Refer to the Field Map to find the camping area. Camping is allowed Friday and Saturday night only - no camping on Sunday night.
The loading zone is located at the intersection of Schellenger Avenue and Ocean Avenue. You may park your vehicle to unload; however, you MAY NOT leave your vehicle unattended. Plan to unload your gear, have a driver go and park your vehicle, and then meet your group at the street end or on the beach. The same rules apply to departure. Vehicles are NOT permitted on the beach.
You may set up your tent(s) in the camping area located on the beach along Schellenger Avenue. Morey’s Piers does not assign specific campsites. Posts and flags define the camp area. Please do not set up camp in the emergency access roads in the camp area. Camping is not permitted west of the bleachers on the beach. Shower and restroom trailers are located in the camping area and a designated walkway under the Pier leads from the camping area to the Mariner’s Landing Pier public bathrooms.
All campsites must be broken down and clean by 6pm on Sunday. Please leave the beach in the same condition as it was found.
The following are prohibited: alcohol, pets, swimming without a lifeguard present, propane, kerosene stoves and lanterns, cooking, open flames and vehicles on the beach.
Observe quiet hours in the camping area from 10pm to 7am. Coaches must make certain that unsupervised children are at the campsite by 10pm.
Morey’s Piers is not responsible for lost, stolen or weather damaged property. The Wildwood beach is under the jurisdiction of the Wildwood Police Department. Your safety, and the safety of those individuals in your charge is your responsibility, please follow the recommendations as set forth by Morey’s Piers and the Wildwood Police Department.
The safety of our campers is of utmost importance to Morey’s Piers. Weather conditions may effect camping differently than it affects the tournament play. Please take a moment to read this section carefully so you will have a complete understanding of what to do in case severe weather occurs during this event. Keep in mind that the tournament could still be underway even though conditions for camping may not be ideal.
Prior to the start of the event: We suggest that you check the Cape Express website, www.capeexpress.com prior to leaving home for the event. You can also call the Beach Blast weather hotline at 609.729.3700 ext. 1887 for weather updates.
In the event of light or sporadic rain, campers may set up camp on the beach, the games continue and the amusement rides and waterparks will open as long as conditions are safe. If we experience heavy rain, the event may be temporarily postponed until the weather clears and rides may also temporarily close. You may want to consider moving your tent to high ground on the beach (stay clear of areas where the water pools), or move your group to a local hotel (select a back-up hotel – or make a hotel reservation – prior to arriving at Morey’s Piers. For a complete listing of motels in the Wildwoods, go to www.wildwoods.org).
If severe weather occurs, such as a thunderstorm, you may be asked to evacuate the beach and take shelter in your cars. If your cars are within walking distance, calmly walk your entire group to the shelter of your vehicles. Or, if your car is a far distance from the beach, pre-select one or more adults to go and get your vehicles and pick up your group at the loading/unloading zone at Schellenger and Ocean Avenue or the street end nearest your camp site. Once you pick up your group, you must move your car to another location to wait out the storm. Remain in your car until the severe weather passes.
Once the severe weather has passed, you may return to your tents on the beach. Please listen for any special announcements over the Morey’s Piers PA system, or from the Wildwood Police, as you return to your tents.
Wristbands are valid for access to Raging Waters Waterpark and Ocean Oasis Waterpark and Beach Club, plus the amusement rides on all 3 Amusement Piers (daily wristband restrictions apply: go carts, SkyScraper, SkyCoaster, Climbing wall, Screamin’ Swing, High Flyer and Springshot are not included) all day Saturday and Sunday during operating hours. Check Morey’s Piers operating hours.
Wristbands must be placed tightly on the right wrist. Please count your wristbands and meal tickets prior to your arrival to make certain that you have received the amount for which you paid. Lost, stolen or forgotten wristbands or meal tickets cannot be replaced without repurchase. Coaches are responsible for distributing wristbands to all members of the team. Players are responsible for obtaining wristbands from their coach.
Meal tickets, if purchased, must be redeemed at the entrance to Rendezvous Beach Picnic Pavilion located at the oceanfront end of Morey’s Pier at Schellenger Avenue (the pier south of the playing fields) on Saturday evening between 5 PM and 7 PM.
