Electrical/Mechanical Maintenance Technician

Experience thrills, as you make a career ar one of the best seaside amusement parks in the world.  Morey's Piers is seeking skilled electrical/mechanical technicians for full time positions in our Attractions Maintenance Department.  Morey's Piers offers a competitive hourly pay rate, a comprehensive benefits package, bonus program, 401k plan and more. A a maintenance technician in this fast paced environment, you will have the opportunity to troubleshoot hydraulics and PLCs, demonstrate knowledge of electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, help to eliminate the down time of rides and work on special projects and preventative maintenance programs.

Job Duties:

  • Ensure Safe reliable operation of rides and mechanical equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic equipment, conveyor systems and production type machinery; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, engineering specifications and troubleshooting malfunctions.
  • Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems, using precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Replace defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, hand and power tools.
  • Determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts, using rules, calipers, micrometers and other measuring units.
  • Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs and straightedges.
  • Fabricate repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
  • Provide maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
  • Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications and establishing personal networks.
  • Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Perform modifications to ride vehicles or show equipment as directed by management.
  • Complete work orders, reports time and equipment condition via CMMS.

Preferred Experience:

  • Equipment Maintenance; Technical Understanding; Technical Zeal; Safety Programs; Power Tools; Attention to Detail, Flexibility; Job Knowledge and Productivity.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2 Year Technical Training to include Electrical, PLC, Machine Shop or Mechanics.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in industrial or manufacturing electrical maintenance, electromechanical maintenance or electrical repair work.
  • Knowledge of testing, troubleshooting and repairing all types and sizes AC and DC motors and generators, transformers, circuit breakers, various electrical components, circuits, conduit and fittings, repair and replace parts, mechanical and hydraulic equipment, etc.
  • Must be able to follow both written and verbal instructions.
  • Must be able to lift up to 70lbs.
  • Must be able to walk/stand for up to 8 hours at a time.
  • Must be able to perform physical activities that require moving one's whole body such as lifting, balancing, climbing and stooping or bending.
  • Must be able to work in varying weather (rain, wind, cold temperatures, direct sunlight or high heat and humidity).
