The main event

Hold das stein

A full stein, one straight arm, and the patience of a saint. Twice a weekend on Friday and Saturday nights, once on Sunday afternoons — and the kids get their own round straight after.

  1. Turn up with a full stein

Adults need a full stein at the start. Kids need a full Root Bier — the cart on the pier will sort you out.

  2. Arm straight, elbow locked

Stein out in front of you, level, held one-handed. No bending, no bracing, no resting it on anything.

  3. Last one holding wins

Then the little ones take the stage for the Root Bier round, with a Simon Says twist thrown in to keep it interesting.

OktoQuest

Seven badges hidden around the festival. Collect them by doing things you were going to do anyway — eat, ride, turn up. Every badge is another entry in one drawing.

Join Das FAM Club — it’s free, it takes about a minute, and joining alone is your first badge. Then scan your Member ID at every register. Points earn double all festival long and triple on the final two weekends, and they buy real things: pretzels, brats, pierogies, pumpkin funnel cake, even a ride wristband.

Das Grand Prize: 2027 season passes for the family, 50,000 Brownie Points, a $200 Jersey Girl gift card and a $200 PigDog gift card. One winner, drawn the week after the festival closes on October 11. The Willkommen badge is free to everyone, so no purchase is necessary to enter.

Saturday, September 19 · 5:00 PM

The Boardwalk Bier Run

Two miles up the beach and back down the boards, with a bier at either end. It kicks off the whole festival — and you’ll cross the finish line about the time the keg gets tapped.

Start · PigDog Beach, 5:00 PM. North along the high tide line toward Surfside Pier.
First bier · Curley’s, 26th & Boardwalk. Then south down the Wildwood boardwalk, past Mariner’s Pier.
Second bier · Adventure Pier. Off the east end of the pier and back onto the sand.
Finish · Wilhelm’s, Mariner’s Pier. A commemorative stein filled with your celebratory bier, a giant soft pretzel, live music and a crowd that’s already started.

It’s two miles, it isn’t timed, and nobody is checking your pace. Pick the Run & Ride bundle and your registration comes with a one-day amusement pier admission, so you can finish your bier and go straight onto the rides. 21+ and under-21 registrations both available; commemorative tee sold separately.

Before you drive down

Know before you go

Do I need a wristband to come?
No. Walking onto Mariner’s Pier is free, and so is everything that makes it Oktoberfest — the bands, the biergarten, the food stands and the stein-holding competition. The wristband is only for the rides.
Where exactly is it?
Mariner’s Pier, 3501 Boardwalk, Wildwood NJ. The bands play the Coca-Cola Stage right in front of the Giant Wheel, and the biergarten is the outdoor space behind Founder’s Grub & Pub.
What time does the pier open?
Hours change weekend to weekend as the season winds down. Check the hours before you set off — bands and stein-holding times are fixed and listed above.
Is this a 21+ event?
Not at all — it’s a family festival with a bier garden in it. Alcohol is 21+ with valid ID, and the kids get their own Root Bier stein-holding round after every adult competition.
I have a season pass. What do I pay?
Nothing to ride — your pass covers Oktoberfest like any other operating day. You can also pick up a $25 Buddy Pass at any booth to bring someone with you.
Are the water parks open?
No. Raging Waters and Ocean Oasis are closed for the season by the time Oktoberfest starts. This is rides, food and music on the amusement piers.
Sept 18 – Oct 11 · Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays

Vier weekends. Dann ist es vorbei.

Four weekends, and then the pier goes quiet until spring. Grab a band, grab a stein, and we’ll see you on Mariner’s.
