Familiar Faces

With a new season almost in full swing here at Moreys Piers, we are starting to see some familiar faces. Each day, we are reconnecting and re-friending those we have lost due to the long cold winter. It’s these kinds of faces we see every single day from Memorial Day Weekend till Labor Day Weekend.  Of course I’m talking about our amazing season pass holders.  It felt just like last month we were saying, “Have a great winter!” and “See you next year!” but as quickly as you can blink an eye, the warm weather started to come out again and it was summer.

Working in Guest Services we happen to encounter almost every single one of our season pass holders over the course of the summer and with encountering them we start to become friends. We learn that some season pass holders come to exchange the suit and tie for fun in the sun while other season pass holders come up to make many memories with their children.

As this will be my third season here at Moreys Piers, I feel when I’m coming to work I’m not only coming to get a pay check, but to see my family. What I mean by this is we have some season pass holders who have been coming to Moreys Piers ever since they were babies. Now even though I have only worked here for 3 years I have seen families grow and made strong relationships with my season pass holders, some to the extent that I write letters to them over the winter and exchange emails to see how they’re doing. As the summer proceeds, we become part of our season pass holders’ memories.

With that said and with the warmest wishes, I say welcome back to the family, season pass holders! Feel free to stop by guest services and say hello to me; I’ll be the one with the big smile and the name tag that says Joey.

My name is Joey Contino and I have spent every single summer on the many different rides on these piers. I rode my first ride when I was only five months old and first became a season pass holder in 1999. As I grew older, I always had the dream of not only being the next President, but to someday be a big part of Morey Organization. I currently work in Guest Services as a supervisor and am doing one of the things that I love- putting smiles on people’s faces. I have the best job in the world.

I am a junior at Temple University where I study Vocal Jazz Performance and The Study of Education in Music. I hope to one day to have my music on your i-Pod, but until then I’ll see you on the slides and the rides.

I must say I saw this gentleman atleast 15 times this summer and he was a pleasure to see.  Joey was always happy and treated my family so nicely. Keep up the good work Morey’s Piers. The friendliness of your staff is just another reason why my family loves Morey’s Piers!
